Thoughts Become Things

I can’t tell you how many times that I’ve just want to Quit and Give Up!

“Especially after the past three years of pure hell.”

In July 2016, I injured my right knee and was forced to undergo 2 knee surgeries, almost a year of, doctors lawyers and surgeries. Not the picture perfect summer to put it mildly. It really sucked!

… then on July 2, 2017, my life would forever be changed, my daughter Kristen was killed in a terrible car accident just 11 days before her 27th Birthday.

I shouldn’t have to tell anyone how hard burying your child can be and still is. Kristen’s death has been the hardest tragedies I’ve ever experience and has almost put me in an early grave as well. No parent should ever have to bury their child.

And Just When You Thought It Couldn’t Get Any Worse …

And if that were not enough, in September of 2018, Hurricane Florence, ( a 100 year storm they say), flooded our home, forcing us to live in a FEMA trailer for several months. Some of our neighbor friends are still facing those arrangements. It sucks, but it could have been worse.

There Were No Homes or Apartments To Be Had … from ANYWHERE!

There were no places to rent, or purchase anywhere in the area where we lived in New Bern, NC. We live in a gated community named Fairfeild Harbor. Over 50% of the homes were destroyed or had major flood damage.

We live on the coast and if you watch the news, you probably saw the unbelievable devastation Hurricane Florence caused in North Carolina. 100’s … if not 1000’s of folks had no place to go, no place to live or had adequate insurance to help. It was Awful!

Talk about holding your head down and swallowing you’re pride …

Today … were finally back in our home! All the hard work, has finally paid off!

The reason I’m sharing this with you, is because I don’t want to see your dreams washed away. No matter how hard it may seem, or if it’s at the time when you need it most, you must NEVER, EVER, GIVE UP!

I saw the above video a while back, hoping it could help someone like it has me, every time I watch it. Sometimes we all need a little kick in the ass to keep us focused and motivated.

I hope this helps you as much as it has me, my family, friends and loved ones! You take care, please share this, it may help someone who is down and out, feels lost and they just want to give up, like I almost did.

Thanks for reading, your friend in success …

Elwood
